Episcopal Homes of Minnesota:

faith-based, mission-driven, and

not for profit.

What has long been known as Episcopal Homes of Minnesota was originally known simply as "the Church Home." It was founded in 1894 by Sister Annette Relf, a nurse and Minnesota's first Episcopal Deaconess. Although Sister Annette's pioneering efforts to serve "the aged and infirm" received the bishop's blessing, she never received any funding from the diocese.

Now, 116 years later, we still don't receive any funding from the diocese. We're fine with that. We enjoy operating with the blessing of – but independently from – the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota. The word "Episcopal" in our name simply (and proudly) proclaims the values that have always guided us. Those values are reflected in our mission, and in the fact that we are a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation, an Equal Housing Opportunity provider and an Equal Opportunity Employer.
