113
years of exceptional, compassionate nursing care
.
Episcopal Church Home of Minnesota was founded in 1894
by Sister Annette Relf, a nurse
and Minnesota's first Episcopal Deaconess. Her mission is kept
alive and vibrant through the
abiding commitment of our
board, staff and volunteers.
Our mission is
to support each individual's physical, social and spiritual needs

We're Building for the Future
When our $10 million renewal
project is completed in 2008,
we will have all private rooms plus three couples suites. But the most revolutionary change is
|
|
|
that we'll no longer be divided into conventional wings with nursing stations. Instead, we'll be divided into six Household Communities.
Each Household will have its own kitchen and dining area, its own living room with a fireplace, its own activity spaces and lounges for visits with family and friends. Each will have its own unique decor, and its own staff.
The cognitive and physical status of many residents improves with this model of care, and they are happier because they are |
 |
| empowered to call the shots much as they did in their own homes. |
m
When we're done, we'll have three Household Communities on 1st Floor,
three Household Communities on 2nd Floor, and greatly expanded
Short-Term Rehab (with all-private rooms) on 3rd Floor.

We're all in this together
Placing a loved one in a new living situation is a family event. Those who have been caregivers remain a part of our team. Family becomes an invaluable partner in creating a dynamic, individualized care plan. Our residents are invaluable partners too. Insights from our Resident Council guide our staff in planning a variety of meaningful activities. We encourage and offer learning and recreation that enriches every day. |
