Volunteer at Episcopal Homes

When you Volunteer, you make someone's day - and your own!

There's no such thing as volunteering too little – or too much! Right now, hundreds of volunteers lend their time and talents to making each day more joyful and rewarding for those we serve. But here's a little secret. Just about any volunteer will tell you that they feel like they receive a lot more than they give.

Anyone can jump in and make somebody's day, just by doing things they like to do: swap stories with residents; read aloud to the visually impaired; share a pet who loves to cuddle; escort residents to Spiritual Life gatherings, therapies or beauty shop appointments; make popcorn; play piano; play cards; sing, dance; laugh...

To get started, simply complete an online volunteer application. Once we receive your application, we’ll contact you to explore the possibilities of contributing your time toward an important mission.

Special Programs:

Title Description Location
Adopt-A-Household Pairs faith communities with Households in the Episcopal Church Home. Every week, the residents and staff in each Household meet to plan what they would like to do in the coming week. Adopting faith communities participate in these meetings several times a year to help plan special events that they will host for the residents of their Household. These events lift everyone's spirits every time!  Episcopal Church Home
Campus Companions A program that matches individual volunteers with individual residents based on compatible personalities, interests and personal schedules. After our Volunteer Coordinator has found a match, an intitial meet-and-greet will take place to ensure that the match is a good fit for both the resident and the volunteer. Then, a set schedule of visits will be determined. (We encourage a commitment of at least six months because consistency is the heart and soul of companionship.  Campus - wide
Computer Tutors Pairs computer-savvy volunteers with residents who are interested in learning- or learning more about- how to use a computer. Computer Tutor volunteers provide one-to-one instruction and coaching on general computer skills and functions. The goal is for residents to be able to create basic documents, complete online searches, and increase their communication with family members and friends via email and social media.  Campus - wide
Treasured Transportation A program that provides free transportation for residents who are no longer able to drive. Imagine getting to your doctor, picking up a prescription, or shopping for groceries or a new coat without a car, and you'll understand how this program got its name. (We will have to do a check of your driving record, and you will have to provide proof of insurance to participate.)  Carty Heights, Cornelia House, King's Crossing, and Seabury
